Service Description
Enhance your HSC Major Work through our specialised Fine Arts Tuition program designed for high school seniors undertaking their major work projects. Our accomplished instructors are renowned fine artists/HSC educators with extensive industry experience. Our classes focus on: • Analysing art and writing essays based upon key case studies, the frames and conceptual framework • Developing artistic vocabulary • Practicing for exams and mastering time management • Constructing concepts for your body of work • Executing the technical aspects of your body of work including guidance across a range of mediums We provide expert guidance across various artistic disciplines such as painting, sculpture, drawing and photography, enabling students to refine their skills and deepen their comprehension of artistic frameworks and concepts. Beyond the major project, we assist students in creating an outstanding art portfolio and involve students in critical practice led research. Classes: Term 4: 2023: Exploring Concepts and Techniques - In this term, students delve into the world of art analysis and technique. They learn to dissect and understand artistic concepts, refining their essay-writing skills alongside technical experimentation for the BOW. Emphasis is placed on building a strong artistic vocabulary crucial for both exams and assignments. Students begin developing and solidifying their artistic concepts, laying the foundation for their body of work. Students will be exposed to a variety of studio techniques and disciplines. Attention is given to refining the body of work concept, organising it effectively within the VAPD and executing the technical aspects with precision. Term 1: 2024: Experimentation and Research-Driven Practice This term places a strong emphasis on practice driven research, helping students to develop an innovative and conceptual approach to their art. Students are guided within their chosen discipline and provided with key artists for inspiration across a series of case studies. Students will be exposed to critical reflection and provided with opportunities to gain invaluable feedback and mentorship on their project in its developmental stages. Terms 2 and 3: 2024: Technical Refinement and Finalisation Looking at technical refinement of their artwork, ensuring that it aligns with their initial concept. Time management becomes crucial as they work towards the finalisation of their body of work.

Cancellation Policy
There are no transfers, credit, refunds or make up sessions if you miss a class or if your personal circumstances change. If you choose to withdraw from a term course or term class before its commencement, you may transfer to another course or class (subject to availability) to be used within 6 months of the date payment was received. You will not receive a refund for the course or class fee paid. There are no transfers or credits if you withdraw or cancel on the day of the course or class or once the course or class has commenced. ALS reserves the right to cancel a student’s enrolment or attendance without notice if their behaviour is too disruptive to ensure the safety and enjoyment of other students. If cancellation of any Workshop/Class is due to COVID-19 Government advised shut down, or the enrolled client has contracted or is awaiting the result of a current test and is in isolation, a credit will be issued on receiving written confirmation from a GP or health provider. The COVID-19 test result must be dated. Credits may be used towards same programs within 3 years of issue (subject to availability). This is in line with the Department of Fair Trading's recommendations under Australian Consumer Law.
